FOOD Festival St.Petersburg—Helsinki 2014
Objective:
To enable participation of Finnish restaurants in FOOF Festival St. Petersburg — Helsinki 2014
About project:
In April 2014 international festival Eat&Joy and restaurant award Where to Eat for the first time will hold an international FOOD festival St. Petersburg — Helsinki 2014.
On the one hand, Where to Eat is a first restaurant award in St. Petersburg launched by Where magazine in 2013. Award winners were selected by an independent group of experts connected with the restaurant sphere.
The first ceremony of Where to Eat award was held in November 2013 in St. Petersburg. Experts listed top-10 restaurants of Russian cultural capital.
On the other hand, Eat&Joy festival is an annual two-week event in Helsinki at the end of September, organized by Uni One Oy.
Launched in 2004, Eat&Joy aimed to bring international food and drinks knowledge, and new gastronomic skills, to Helsinki based restaurants. It also sought to draw attention to three specific areas: the high quality of Finnish food from the country’s small producers, the New Nordic Kitchen, and to Finland’s cutting edge creative efforts in art and design. Eat&Joy had its usual focus on Helsinki but was also expanded to include Baltic neighbors - St. Petersburg and Tallinn.
FOOD festival St. Petersburg – Helsinki 2014 is aimed not only to demonstrate cooking talents and techniques of leading chefs. For this time gastronomy as a science studying connections between culture and food will unite cooking traditions of two north neighbor cities!
The main feature of the event is a chef exchange between two cities: 8 chefs from best restaurants of St. Petersburg and Helsinki will switch their places and cities! Each of them will demonstrate his skills and will share the experience.
